FCC Certification in the United States

Product range:

FCC Certification Introduction:
FCC is the abbreviation of the Federal Communications Commission (Federal Communications Commission www.fcc.gov), FCC certification is a mandatory certification for electronic products to enter the US market. It covers more than 50 U.S. states, Columbia, and U.S. regions.

FCC certification is the United States EMC mandatory certification, mainly for 9KHz-3000GHz electronic and electrical FCC certification products, the content involves radio, communication and other aspects, especially wireless communication equipment and systems radio interference problems, including radio interference limits and measurement methods, as well as certification system and organization management system. FCC-regulated products such as personal computers, CD players, copiers, radios, fax machines, video game consoles, electronic toys, televisions, and microwave ovens. These products are divided into CLASS A, CLASS B two categories according to use, Class A is for commercial or industrial use of products, Class B is for household use of products, FCC for Class B products regulations are more stringent, the limit is low and Class A, for most electrical and electronic products, the main standards are FCC Part 15 and FCC Part 18.

On November 2017, 11, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) officially announced that in order to simplify the certification process of wireless device equipment and clarify the specifications for the use of electronic tags, the DoC & VoC plan was officially changed to SDoC.
On November 2, 2017, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) officially announced that in order to simplify the certification process of wireless device equipment and clarify the specifications for the use of electronic tags, the DoC & VoC plan was officially changed to SDoC.
11. What is SDoC?
SDoC, or Supplier's Declaration of Compliance, the equipment supplier (note: the supplier must be a local company in the United States) will test the equipment that meets the specified standards or requirements, and the equipment that meets the requirements must provide relevant documents (such as SDoC declaration documents) to provide proof to the public. SDoC policies simplify previously cumbersome FCC certification requirements, further reducing the burden on businesses.
2. When will it be enforced?
From November 1, 2 to November 2017, 11, this year is a transitional period during which you can continue to use the FCC VoC and DoC certification process or use the new FCC SDoC certification process. After a one-year transition period, the FCC SDoC certification process will officially replace the original FCC VoC and DoC certification methods.
2. Impact on enterprises:
Overall, the FCC SDoC certification process is more simplified and clear than the original procedure, and the FCC SDoC certification process allows the use of electronic tags while reducing cumbersome import declaration requirements. The aim is to simplify the current cumbersome and complex FCC certification requirements and further reduce the burden on businesses.
2018. What is the impact on the laboratory:
the SDoC certification process requires the issuance of a test report, and it is not mandatory to test in the FCC Recognized Accredited laboratory, and the previous test standards are still used. In fact, it greatly relaxes the requirements for laboratories. For unintentional launch equipment, the FCC intends to allow simultaneous licensing of SDoC or Certification for certification.
11. What should we do during the transition period:
2. Products that pass the FCC SDoC certification process will have the option to mark or not mark the FCC logo.
3. SDoC requires that the declaration of conformity file be added to the file accompanying the device, and the declaration of conformity must include the necessary information such as the name, address or contact URL of the local supplier in the United States.
4. Option to continue using the FCC VoC and DoC certification process during the transition period.
5. FCC VoC and DoC certification procedures done before the transition period are always in effect, and if the product is modified, it will need to be recertified.

The FCC's main standards
OF WHICH FCC PART 15 AND PART 18 ARE THE MOST WIDELY USED:
FCC standards Scope of application
FCC PART15 C/E/F intentional radiating device test
FCC PART 18 INDUSTRIAL, SCIENTIFIC, AND MEDICAL EQUIPMENT
FCC PART 22 PUBLIC MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS SERVICES
FCC PART 24 PERSONAL COMMUNICATIONS SERVICES
FCC PART 25 SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS SERVICES
FCC PART 27 Other FCC Wireless Communication Services
FCC PART 68 TELECOMMUNICATIONS TERMINAL EQUIPMENT
FCC Part 15 regulates transmitting equipment that is intentional, unintentional, or instantaneous and does not require a personal license in use. It includes technical specifications, administrative requirements and other market access conditions. Products are mainly divided into four categories: unintentional transmitting equipment, intentional transmitting equipment, personal communication equipment without licenses, and basic information equipment of countries without licenses.
FCC Part 18 regulates electromagnetic energy emitted by industrial, scientific, and medical equipment (ISM) operating over a certain spectrum to prevent harmful interference with authorized wireless communications services.

Specific steps for customers to entrust the application for FCC certification:
1. The customer submits the application form (our company provides a blank application form);
2. The customer signs a contract with our company for commissioned testing;
3. Send samples for testing, and prepare electrical schematic diagrams, external/internal photos, oscillator circuit block diagrams, user manual nameplate identification, working principle descriptions, etc. (depending on the product);
4. After the test is qualified, FCC SDOC certification form Luxshare only issue a report, SDOC declaration certificate issued by the US agent, our company directly issues the certificate of conformity and report, if it is FCC DOC or ID certification, our company will submit the application materials to the FCC authorized certification agency;
5. After the enterprise obtains FCC certification, it can use the FCC mark on the product;

Note: FCC ID certification requires the following information list and requirements:
1) FCC application form: the application company name, address, contact information, product name and model, usage standards and other information requirements are accurate;
2) FCC authorization letter: it must be signed and sealed by the contact person of the applicant company and scanned into an electronic file;
3) FCC confidential letter: The confidential letter is an agreement signed between the applicant company and the TCB agency to keep product information confidential, which must be signed and sealed by the contact person of the applicant company and scanned into an electronic file;
4) Block diagram: all crystal oscillators, as well as crystal oscillator frequencies, need to be drawn, and consistent with the circuit diagram;
5) Circuit diagram: must be consistent with the crystal oscillator frequency, number of crystal oscillators and crystal oscillator position in the block diagram;
6) Line description: the requirement is in English, and the functional realization principle of the product is clearly described;
7) Instruction manual: FCC warning words are required;
8) Label and label location: The label should have an FCC ID number and Statement, and the position of the label should be significant;
9) Photos of the appearance of the product: the pictures are required to be clear and clear, and remarks are added if necessary;
10) Test report: The test is required to be completed, and the product is evaluated in all aspects according to the standard terms

  Concentrate:
1, FCC ID applied after August 2022, 8 need to provide an antenna report, and the previously issued project is no longer required
After
No. 25, even if the certificate has been issued, the antenna report must be supplemented, otherwise the ID will be revoked

2, the antenna report must at least contain information such as maximum gain, antenna pattern, and pictures or drawings used to identify the antenna inside the device

25, not all Part 3 technologies to provide a complete antenna report, such as the common FCC part 4.15, 15.225, 15.227, 15.229, 15.231, 15.239 and other standards (such as NFC, wireless charging, 15 remote control, 249.433G wireless keyboard, 2.4G radar, etc.), only need to reflect the antenna photo, size and other information in the report, Product photos or a separate file
on 5, antenna gain information needs to be made public, can not be confidential, antenna report can be confidential, but antenna gain information is public (can be made a separate file
, only describe antenna gain information)
