CEC is the abbreviation for the California Energy Commission in the United States. In December 2005, CEC issued CEC certification in accordance with the California Electrical and Electronic Regulations.
The main purpose of CEC certification in the United States is to improve the efficiency of electronic and electrical products, save energy, reduce carbon dioxide emissions, and reduce the greenhouse effect. CEC certification involves 58 categories of products, and products within the scope of CEC certification must meet the requirements of CEC certification, otherwise they cannot be sold.
CEC certification scope
The six major categories of products certified by CEC are summarized as follows:
1. Charger category: products with small capacity batteries such as Bluetooth earphones, Bluetooth speakers, smart bracelets, laptops, mobile phones, tablets, etc;
2. Power supply category: external power supply, power adapter;
3. Consumer audio and video devices: such as set-top boxes, monitors, DVD players, and other products;
4. Television;
5. Lighting fixtures: bulb lamps, tubes, etc;
6. Household appliances: refrigerators, air conditioners, and other products.
CEC Certification Registration Process
1. Provide prototype testing.
2. After passing the test, complete the test.
3. Issue a test report.
4. Submit registration for CEC.
5. Complete CEC certification.
