Radio transmission equipment model approval refers to the system of legally managing the spectrum parameters and technical indicators of radio transmission equipment during the development, production, import, purchase, and other stages before it is put into use. The Regulations on Radio Administration of the People's Republic of China stipulate that the working frequencies and frequency bands of the research, production, and import of radio transmission equipment shall comply with the relevant national regulations on radio management, and shall be reported to the radio management agency for approval or filing.
The main content of model approval is to verify the frequency, frequency band, transmission power, frequency tolerance, occupied bandwidth (or spectral characteristics of the transmitted signal), out of band transmission, and spurious transmission spectrum parameters of the radio transmission equipment. These spectral parameters are directly related to whether limited spectral resources can be scientifically utilized, whether the order of aerial radio waves can be effectively maintained, and whether radio safety can be effectively guaranteed.
According to the requirements and workflow for the identification of inspection institutions specified in the "Measures for the Approval and Testing of Radio Equipment Emission Characteristics", SRTC has been authorized as a type approval and testing institution for radio transmission equipment since 1996, providing testing services to society in accordance with the law.
