"The fourth generation of new light source" LED as the mainstream, with long theoretical life, high luminous efficiency, low energy consumption and other characteristics, has gradually entered the field of general lighting, market share year by year. The ideal life expectancy of LED is more than 5,1 hours, but the actual life is far from it, which seriously affects the large-scale application of LED, and LED reliability testing and life prediction are the key to solving this problem. Reliability testing and life testing can help LED manufacturers timely find the design defects and effects of LED products, and the reasons for their actual life, so as to optimize LED products and extend their actual service life.
Life test is carried out in the laboratory to simulate various conditions of use, in order to shorten the test time without changing the failure mechanism, the method of increasing stress is used to carry out the method This is the accelerated life test. With long-term work, LED luminous brightness appears light intensity or light brightness attenuation phenomenon. The degree of device aging is related to the size of the applied constant current source. The actual measurement of LED life takes a long time, so it is necessary to carry out accelerated aging test methods.
Generally, there are three methods to calculate the life of LED:
