Introduction to certification
The Bureau of Standards and Inspection of Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs has established a quality management system responsible for the legal inspection and testing of products (including electrical products) intended for sale, import or any commercial use in Taiwan. BSMI is the abbreviation of Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection of the Bureau of Standards and Inspection of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan. According to the announcement of Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs, from July 2005, 7, products entering Taiwan will be subject to electromagnetic compatibility and safety supervision. After 1, energy efficiency requirements for air conditioners and refrigerators were put forward and included in the scope of BSMI control.
The holder of the BSMI certificate must be a local company in Taiwan, and the test report must be issued by a BSMI accredited laboratory in Taiwan, generally relying on the tariff code CCC code to determine whether it falls within the scope of BSMI control, and the general CCC code is provided by the manufacturer itself. CCC code, Standard Classification of Commodity of The Republic of China Code, similar to the international H.S code.
According to different products and certification requirements, BSMI is divided into the following three certification modes:
1. Type Approval (TA)
Applicable to electrical and electronic products, listed EMC+Safety. Implemented on November 2002, 11, it replaced EMC MS in the electromagnetic compatibility management system. It is suitable for manufacturers who produce a variety of products, and adopts the method of batch inspection, and each customs purchase needs to add inspection fees. The certificate is valid for 1 years and can be renewed once.
2. Registration of product certification (RPC)
Applicable to electrical and electronic products, listed EMC+Safety. It came into force on January 1999, 1. It is suitable for manufacturers who produce a single product and must sell it for a long time, and there is no additional charge for each subsequent customs purchase. An annual fee is required. The certificate is valid for 1 years and can be renewed once.
3. Declaration of Conformity (DOC)
The customer declares that he or she will apply to BSMI for payment. Only for information technology equipment component products, listed EMC+Safety. It came into force on 2000 January 1. The certificate is permanent, but it is possible that the standard needs to be retested due to age.
Product range
The product range is divided according to the certification mode, 3 different certification modes, different product ranges under control, the basic TA and PRC-controlled products are consistent, and the DOC-controlled products do not overlap with TA/PRC. Details are as follows:
1. Type Approval (TA)
The control product is consistent with the PRC.
2. Registration of product certification (RPC)
Control 148 types, including electric blankets, fans, air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, water dispensers, dishwashers, electric motors, juicers, water heaters, electric irons, induction cookers, switches, plugs and sockets, wires and cables, textiles, lamps, etc.
3. Declaration of Conformity (DOC)
Control 30 types, typewriters, cash registers, electronic calculators, disk drives, cameras/video cameras, U disks/portable hard disks, optical drives, etc.
Application process
1. Customers prepare samples and materials
2. The engineer checks the sample, the information, the sample OK, and the application is submitted to Waltek
3. Waltek submits samples and materials to Taiwan cooperative laboratories for testing
4. The laboratory issues a report and submits it to BSMI, and BSMI issues a certificate
Certification marks
The logo can be printed by the manufacturer, scaled proportionally, and printed on the product itself or on the outer packaging or on a hang tag. Taking R3A001 as an example, R stands for the authentication mode is RPC, 3 represents the code of the inspection bureau, and A001 is the serial number code, which is issued by the inspection bureau. The identification code can be marked below or to the right of the inspection mark, as shown in the following example:

Certificate validity period:
1. Type Approval (TA, Type Approval): The certificate is valid for 3 years and can be renewed once.
2. Registration of product certification (RPC): The certificate is valid for 3 years and can be renewed once.
3. Declaration of Conformity (DOC), Declaration of Conformity: The certificate is permanent, but it may need to be retested due to the age of the standard to be replaced.
Factory inspection requirements: Generally, no factory inspection is required. Only for verification login (2+4/5/6/7 mode), ISO certificate that meets the requirements can be provided to exempt the factory from factory inspection.
Holder requirements: A local registered company or local agent in Taiwan is required to hold a certificate
