Light distribution test, also known as light distribution curve test or IES test, refers to the light intensity distribution of light sources (or lamps) in all directions of space, and the curve connected by marking the light intensity values of each position on the polar coordinate diagram is the light distribution curve of the lamp.

Q: What are the parameters of IES light distribution test?

A: Electrical parameters:

voltage, frequency, current, power, power factor;

Light parameters (0-180°/90-270°): luminous flux, luminous efficiency, central light intensity, beam angle, ring band luminous flux, color spatial distribution uniformity;

Q: What is the use of light distribution test?

1. It is an important data to judge the energy efficiency and utilization of lamps, and the light distribution curve should be provided as a basic parameter when purchasing lamps.

2. When handling energy efficiency certification of Energy Star, DLC, CEC and ErP, there are light distribution test requirements.

Q: Both light distribution and integrating spheres can measure luminous flux data, but the data is a bit different, which is accurate?

A: The luminous flux measured by the light distribution is more accurate, and the luminous flux data of the integrating sphere can be used for reference.

Q: Is there any difference between light distribution and integrating sphere test?

A: The integrating sphere can test color parameters, such as color temperature, finger, color coordinates, light distribution can not.

Light distribution can test the light intensity distribution data and generate the corresponding IES file, while integrating spheres cannot be.
